Plastic &
aesthetic surgery.

Reconstructive and aesthetic surgery delivered by consultant plastic surgeons at The Bromsgrove Hospital. Honest consultations, realistic outcomes, discreet care.

Overview

Honest consultations, long-term results.

Our plastic and aesthetic surgery service offers a focused range of consultant-led procedures — from breast and body contouring through to facial rejuvenation and skin lesion surgery. Every procedure begins with an honest, unhurried consultation where realistic outcomes are discussed openly before any decision is made.

We do not offer or promote treatments that don’t suit your goals. The aim is always a result you are happy with long-term — discreet where you want it to be, natural-looking, and supported by clear pre- and post-operative care.

Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation

Implant-based breast enlargement using modern silicone or saline implants.

Breast augmentation increases breast size and improves shape using implants — usually silicone gel, sometimes saline. It can address a sense of disproportion that has always been there, restore volume lost after weight change or pregnancy, or correct asymmetry between the two breasts.

At Optimised Care, a thorough consultation comes first — examining your goals, your anatomy, and the implant options that suit you best. There is no one-size-fits-all answer; implant size, shape, profile, and placement are all tailored to give you a natural result you'll be happy with long term.

Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction

Reducing breast size to relieve back, neck and shoulder pain — and improve quality of life.

Breast reduction (also called reduction mammoplasty) removes excess breast tissue and skin to reduce the size and weight of the breasts. It is one of the most patient-satisfying operations we perform because relief from chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain — and from the lifestyle limitations of very large breasts — is often dramatic.

Recovery takes a few weeks and most patients are back to office work within 2 weeks. Scars settle significantly over the first 12 months. Your consultant will go through the technique, scar pattern, and realistic outcomes in detail at consultation.

Liposuction (small areas)

Liposuction (small areas)

Targeted removal of stubborn fat from specific areas using modern tumescent technique.

Liposuction is a precise contouring procedure for stubborn pockets of fat that don't respond to diet and exercise — typically the flanks, abdomen, inner thighs, knees, or under the chin. It is not a weight-loss treatment but a sculpting one.

At Optimised Care we focus on small-area liposuction performed under local or short general anaesthetic, often as a day case. The result is a smoother, more refined contour with minimal downtime. Skin tone matters for a good result and your consultant will be honest with you about whether liposuction alone is the right approach for your goals.

Facelift

Facelift

Surgical rejuvenation of the lower face and neck, addressing sagging skin and jawline.

A facelift addresses the visible signs of ageing in the lower face and neck — sagging skin along the jawline, loss of definition in the chin and neck, and deeper folds around the mouth. Modern facelift techniques work on the underlying structures (the SMAS layer) as well as the skin, giving a more natural, longer-lasting result than older skin-only techniques.

A facelift is a substantial operation but day case or one-night-stay surgery for most patients. The visible result settles over 3 to 6 months as swelling resolves. Your consultant will discuss the technique most suited to your face, the recovery timeline, and what to expect realistically.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

Removing excess skin from the upper arms after significant weight loss or with ageing.

Brachioplasty — an arm lift — removes loose, sagging skin from the upper arms. It is most commonly considered by patients who have lost significant weight (whether through diet, exercise, or bariatric surgery) and find that the skin has not retracted, leaving a "bat wing" appearance.

The operation leaves a scar along the inner arm — there is no way around this, and the scar is part of the trade-off for the result. Most patients find the contour change far outweighs the scar, but your consultant will be clear-eyed with you about what to expect before any decision is made.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Reshaping the abdomen — removing excess skin and repairing separated muscles.

Abdominoplasty — commonly called a tummy tuck — removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tightens the underlying muscles. It is most commonly considered after pregnancy or significant weight loss, when the abdominal wall and overlying skin haven't returned to their pre-event state despite good diet and exercise.

There are different versions of the operation — a mini tummy tuck, a full abdominoplasty, or a fleur-de-lis variant depending on how much skin needs removing. Recovery takes a few weeks and the result settles over the following months. Your consultant will discuss the right technique for your anatomy and goals.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Removing excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids to refresh the eye area.

Blepharoplasty rejuvenates the eye area by removing excess skin and, where needed, repositioning small fat pads in the upper or lower eyelids. It opens up tired-looking eyes, restores definition, and can also be performed for functional reasons when sagging upper eyelid skin starts to interfere with vision.

The operation is usually a day case under local anaesthetic with sedation, taking 1-2 hours. Scars are placed in the natural eyelid creases and become essentially invisible within a few months. Most patients are back to social activities within 1-2 weeks.

Skin Lesions: Biopsies & Excisions

Skin Lesions: Biopsies & Excisions

Removal and analysis of moles, cysts, lipomas, and other skin lesions.

We see and treat a wide range of skin lesions — moles, cysts, lipomas (fatty lumps), seborrhoeic keratoses, and other skin changes. Some are removed for cosmetic reasons, others because of how they look, feel, or because of a need to confirm a diagnosis under the microscope.

Most skin lesions are removed under local anaesthetic as an outpatient procedure — a short appointment where you walk in, have the lesion removed, and walk out. Where appropriate, the sample is sent for histology so you have a definitive diagnosis. Your consultant will discuss what to expect, the likely scar, and any aftercare.
